Exposure therapy is a type of therapy that focuses on overcoming fear, anxiety, and resistance by coming into contact with a feared situation or outcome repeatedly until the fear is no longer distressing or persistent.

Exposure therapy is effective in treating anxiety disorders such as social anxiety, as well as phobias, trauma, and OCD.

Often these disorders can be debilitating. They can lead to isolation, strained relationships, failure in school, loss of work, depression, financial hardship. Anxiety, fear, disgust can also lead to missed opportunities to succeed, by leading to avoidance.
